Garden Fresh


Our electric fence around our vegetable garden is certainly doing the trick of preventing critters from making daily dinners out of our tomatoe and pepper plants. But what to do when you have 30 tomatoes all ripe at the same time? Tomatoe sauce! After a phone call to mom for the "how-to" I was off on my first venture of making homemade tomato sauce from homegrown tomatoes. For those of you that don't know me I am easily excited by "from scratch" cooking and baking so this little experiment was right up my happy alley.

Chop & simmer

Simmer some more

Strain out the peels and seeds and viola! Homemade sauce.
