The Phantom Ghost Strikes

The other morning, exiting our front door on the way to school, we realized we had been sweetly rewarded with a surprise late night visit from the Phantom Ghost.  The boys were beyond thrilled to find such a cute, festive package on our front steps and were just as thrilled, if not more so, to return the excitement to their neighborhood friends.  For those of you not yet familiar with this delicious and sweet little October tradition it's easy to start in your own neighborhood and fun for all involved.  After creating a couple of simple treat bags, attach a picture of a friendly ghost along with the Phantom Ghost note containing instructions for the next family.

The following night as we prepared our bags and waited for dad to arrive home from work we hopped into the car and he drove us around so we could make a quick and stealthy get-away and preserve the phantom-like existence of the Phantom Ghost.  It was a joy to hide behind bushes and watch as our friends answered their doors, slightly perplexed that no one was there and then watch as a smile crept onto their faces once they looked down at their feet.  (See photos for visual tutorial.)

Happy Haunting!

 Ding Dong!  Phantom Ghost.
