Even it mid-October the boys prefer whipping off their socks & shoes and tramping around in to cool garden soil. As we cleared out the withering summer vegetable plants from our garden and prepared to till the soil in preparation for some late fall plantings we came across a wonderful surprise spread across the shaded, moist soil, moss! This is actually a bad thing for gardens, chalk it up to a lazy spring and not properly preparing our soil for the summer harvest but nonetheless, I love moss and couldn't bear part with it so we came up with a plan to transplant it into our rock wall in the hopes that it will take root and create a scenic spot near our garden. Here's a before picture:
and here's the after.
The boys had quite a fun time scraping the moss off the floor of the garden and tucking it into the nooks and crannies of the rock wall.
Til next time, for more gardening adventures...this is Captain America, signing off. ;)
