We celebrated a mate's birthday onboard the legendary Eastern Shore pirate ship, the Sea Gypsy. Home to the mighty Bay Pirates with fearsome and gruesome names such as Buccaneer Brandon, Admiral Andrew, Swashbuckling Sophia, and Emerald Emma. This rowdy crew could give as good as Arghhhh! as any and knew what it meant to be "All hands on deck!". Fueled up on Pirate's Grog this frothy band of pirates steered thru mermaids mesmerizing stares, shouted pirate-y words (like "Ahoy" and "Arghhh!" to passers-by (Naval Academy cadets and Saturday's pub-crawlers in Annapolis), battled a swashbuckling pirate foe with water cannons and braved Octopus slime to uncover a hidden treasured sunk beneath the murky depths of the mighty Chesapeake.
This crew was well-deserving of birthday girl Cate's cheerful pirate cupcakes which brought an end to their days' adventure on the high seas only to return again when the mermaids get too rowdy, the octopus' too hungry or their pirate foes too troublesome.
