There He Grows Again

A year full of wishes, hopes and dreams.  Where has he been?  What has he seen?  How did he grow?  What did he learn?  What did we hope to pass on?

Our middle mon-chee-chee turns 6 today.  I still remember the day / weekend he entered our lives.  Steve and I had just enjoyed a taco dinner and snuggled in to watch opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics...ouch.  Ouch again. What in the...?!?!  OH!  Full moon and near the due date with a major snow storm in the forecast we quickly grabbed our bags and headed to the hospital for the arrival of little Brandon, or Aidan; we hadn't decided which.  Twelve hours later our force of nature greeted us with a wise smile appearing to know more about the world than I did at this stage in my life.  Fortunately, reinforcements were on the way (Grandma).

Brandon, you have greeted the world with surety and passion that I have never before seen.  I feel blessed to be your mother and although the exhaustion has slightly outweighed the energy at this stage in our relationship, I'm happy to have you, little man, by my side.  We adore your quick grasp of intellect, your perception of the situation at hand, and your exuberance at being the comic both at home and at school.  Your constant self-challenge to cross-off the to-do's in your list, grow strong and be the stealthiest ninja are endearing to your Dad & me.

We love you and wish you a Happy 6th Birthday and yet another exuberant year, Mr. B!

xoxo,
Mom & Dad
