Candyland Live

I have been feeling a little bah-humbug about the holiday season because, although traditions are lovely and I hold them dear to my heart, holiday celebrating at my house usually entails a lot of solo work time for me.  And this season I'm not yet ready for it.  Yes, the boys are excited to pick out a tree on a crisp December evening but when it comes to decorating the tree, they are done after hanging five ornaments.  So, we still have not picked up our tree.  In addition to my soon-to-be-scheduled annual Chardonnay Online Shopping Experience (COSE, pronounced KO-zee, or Ko-say to sound more French & way more classy than it deserves, for short, and the event in which I opt to order the majority of the boys Christmas presents with a few little clicks on the keyboard embellished by a few sips of Chardonnay in lieu of battling the crowds at the mall and driving from store to store), I have been plugging in some festive outbursts into our weekly schedule.  It has been entertaining as we have seen ice sculptures, skated around an ice rink and, most recently, burst out with Candyland Live.  I have a series of photos on my camera that if you were to label the last two photos shown here as A and B, the series would look like A, B, A, B, A, B.  (Lick palm, dip in sugar, lick palm, dip in sugar, lick palm...one can almost see their brains thinking 'how long can we really get away with this?  I suppose as long as that camera is between us and mom.  Don't question, just keep dipping!').  Here's to constructing your ginger masterpieces this holiday season.

"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day.  Don't clean it up too quickly."
