Season Finals

Most of us on the team are first time soccer parents.  What another parenting phenomenon to watch the young players learn and implement much in a short amount of time.  The season began a little heavy on the holding hands and running off to catch flying insects and climbing that tree at the entrance to the practice field.  But as that behavior lightened up it paved the way for the team knowing (for the most part): which goal was theirs, understanding that snacks really were only for half time and post game, actively watching when on the sidelines and last but not least,
staying on the field until a sub was sent in for a swap (perhaps this particular feat was a success due more to all the sideline ice-cream bribes by the parents who were pulling their hair out trying to keep their kid on the field and less from the kids actually grasping the concept that this was not a free will situation).

We froze our heinnies off that morning at the hour-and-a-half soccer marathon but were well rewarded in the end by the proud grins on our children's faces as they earned their first soccer award.

Thanks Coach "Minnesota" Joe & Go Blue!

xoxo to all the Blues & their families
